What to expect out of a felony DUI in California?

I am 21 years old and I am being charged with DUI with injury. I was driving and ran a stop sign, lost control of the car and hit a tree. My friend was in the penger seat and the airbags did not deploy he got a cut on his head and needed 6 stitchs...Hes not pressing charges. They are charging me with an A and B count under V code sec 23153. They have also added great bodily injury to it. This is my first offense. Ive never been in trouble with the law and havent had so much as a ticket. My BAC was .15. I have an attorney but I feel like hes not telling me anything and im in the dark. Ive been to court twice and it has just gotten continued. What do I need to do and what can I expect?
