Why Do You Love Dogs??

I agree completely with you description of the lack of hidden motive in anything that a dog does, but mine are more special to me because of their special vocation. We do Search and Rescue, and while we have never found anyone yet (we keep looking), the look on their faces in training, when they find their person, is amazing. To see that look of devotion, when they know that they did a job well done.......and all they did it for was a few tugs on a toy........and my praise, that is love.
