How do you kickflip on a skateboard?

Every time i try, i land one foot on the board and one foot off (Right foot on, left foot on the floor) As for the actual spin i can do it but once i flick i cant move my foot back quick enough, does any one have any tips thanks. And btw i can ollie and other tricks just cant kickflip and i ride regular normal. Thanks to anyone who can answer
