Sprint Katana Contacts Question?

i dont no what happened to my phone.....but now there is a dent in it.....just right under where the battery is on the backside and it will not power on....but obviously i will get a new one....but since it will not turn on can they still get all of my contacts off of my bad phone to put on the new one?
