Why doesn't the Pentagon want the American people to see fallen soldiers honored?

Because they want to continue the war without the meddling of the American public. How dare we have an opinion on dying Americans! Showing the returning coffins of the dead soldiers every evening on the news during the Vietnam War was what precipitated the anti war protests.
