I don't know how short I can make this without leaving pertinent details,but June of 2007 I began to develop terrible abdominal pains. Went to my PCP and was told it was an ulcer, pain got worse, went back, and he sent me to a GI Dr. who said it was an ulcer. As the days went on the pain became unbearable with my abdomen distended and I could not eat without severe pains about 3 hours after. The pain became so severe, it was exactly like labor contractions. What ever muscles are effected during labor, the same thing was happening with this. I went to my local ER, they took x-rays and CT scan and was told everything is normal. there is a small dialated area of the ileus,but thats not the problem. They gave me pain meds and told me to follow up withh my PCP. The pain grew worse, and I was unable to eat without excruciating pain. I ended up going to the hospital that my GYN worked out of, thinking it was scar tissue wrapping around something from my previous surgeries. My GYN performed a laperoscopy and said there was adhesions all over, like a film that covered my entire pelvic and abdomen area. He removed them, sent me home and 1 day later, after eating the pain was worse then ever. To back track a little, before the gyn operated, that hospital did numerous x-rays and ct scans which all showed the dialated ileus. which was getting larger with each X-ray/scan. I went back to the ER, they admitted me, inserted an NG tube, which released a lot of pain and pressure. I was on nothing by mouth diet on and off for a month. I was in and out of that hospital for a month. Each x-ray showed the dialation of the ileus and every Dr. dismissed that as being the source of my pain. They then decided I was making this up to obtain drugs. They also told my family this.And that I need to be locked in a room for a few days screaming, until I get over my "withdrawals" There are no words to describe the frustration I felt after hearing this. There was one Dr. there who knew I was very sick and he told my family to take me to another hospital(one of the top ones in the country) they took me there and I was admitted. They inserted the NG tube, took more x-rays and ct scans and also saw the dialted area, but was reluctant to operate for fear of causing more scar tissue, so they kept a close eye on me hoping if there was an obstruction, that it would go away on it's own. Back tracking again....the last 3 x-rays at the previous hospital stated that there was suspicion of an early small bowell obstruction. The hospital I was at now, believed that was the problem also. My gyn from the other hospital was contacted to obtain my records and he told the current hospital "That I was crazy" he also said that to another Dr. who was trying to get me into NYuniversity hospital. That Dr. was a friend of my brothers. After that comment, the current hospital began to doubt me. I ended up in and out of that hospital for the entire month of August, everytime I ate I was in the worst pain and had projectile vomiting. My 13 and 14 year old kids had to witness all this. I was dying and noone was taking me serious any more due to the GYN's comments and that previous hospital. I had no choice but to go back to the current hospital. My GI there said she is trying one last test, and then there is nothing more she can do. It was a capsule endoscopy. You swallow this capsule which is a camera and they attach you to a monitor which takes hundreds of pictures in the area where scopes can't reach. 4 nights later, I was ready to die, I could not even drink without excruciating pain and vomiting, the next morning my GI Dr. called and said to report to the ER immediately. When I got there, she told me that "she is so sorry, and I was right the whole time, that the pictures showed numerous ulcerations, strictures and the capsule was lodged in that portion of my small bowell. They did emergency surgery and the walls of my small bowel had actually collapsed. A small bowel resect was performed. Now had the hospital and GYN took my symptoms and the x-ray results serious, i believe I would not have needed a bowel resect, not to mention the severe pain, emotional pain, and frustration I had endured for 3 months. The first hospital knew there was a prob;lem because the last 3 x-rays stated that there was suspicion of a blockage, but they did nothing, but basically call me crazy, all but one of those Dr's who I credit for saving my life. The one who advised I go to another hospital. Last summer anothe blockage began to form from the scar tissue of the previous surgery.It was immediately removed so i did not have to suffer for months again. I contacted a malpractice lawyer via e-mail and tried to summarize this case (of course there are still more details) but this is the main ones. I agree completely with you description of the lack of hidden motive in anything that a dog does, but mine are more special to me because of their special vocation. We do Search and Rescue, and while we have never found anyone yet (we keep looking), the look on their faces in training, when they find their person, is amazing. Okay. My grandfather ped away 5 - 6 months ago now. I was living with him before he died. My STEP grandmother left him for years and only came back recently before he got sick (She kind of on and off left him to live on her own for years). Can an aloe plant "go bad"?

Is it a "normal practice" for my doctor to be reusing needles/syringes, presumably after sterilization?

A week ago I went to see a podiatrist connected to my local hospital. I was quite satisfied with the overall professionalism of said podiatrist, but at the end of my visit, I was given an injection into my foot, after which my podiatrist tossed either the entirety, or a portion of the syringe/needle into a trash bucket labeled "REUSABLE SHARP," from which I presume that the syringe/needle used on me had been used previously, and would be used again on another patient after me, presumably after some process of sterilization, correct? I was just wondering if any doctors, or fellow patients out there could tell me if this is a common/safe practice?...as my exposure to media reports about medicinal issues have always led me to believe that all syringes/needles should be brand new, for each patient, and completely disposed of...not to be reused.

If I am not in highschool band or orchestra, but take private piano lessons (along with other instruments)? My piano teacher told me that if I keep working hard, I will be able to get a scholarship. And I really want to become a music professor/college band conductor, but I just don't know if that's even possible without highschool band. I might, however, join the local youth symphony (playing either piano, french horn, flute, violin, or cello). Are my goals realistic if I have only been in band through 8th grade?

Ok, I have a kenwood kac-9103d amp 900w x 1 at 2ohms and 2 kenwood kfc-3011w 4 ohm SVC 400w rms each, i have them wired at 2 ohms and i know that everything is wired right, and gain is set at 2 volts which is my HU's preout voltage, every thing worked perfect for 2 months until i added a 1.5 farad capacitor yesterday and i popped the trunk after a 15 minute drive with playing it loud and my box was smoking from the port, i felt the speakers and just the left one was a lil warm, this is how i wired the capacitor, + wire: battery(fused) to capacitor postive to amp, - wire: capaitor negative to ground, same as amp. Question about PA dui and marine corps DEP?

im 23 and got pulled over on friday night and arrested on my first dui charge, i blew a .023 and got blood drawn. i recieved no citation or any paper work, i was very cooperative and did not spend the night in jail. i was able to get my car after being processed. I am currently in marine DEP program and my ship date is oct. 13. and the officer who pulled me over is aware of this. i have a clean record and no prior tickets. why didnt i recieve a citation or any paperwork and what can i do to still leave on oct. 13 and not delay it any longer?

Question about knife sharpening?

Ok, first off...I use a diamond stone to sharpen knives. The diamond stone I use has 2 sides to it, one for polishing and one for grinding. When I sharpen a dull knife I usually push the knife back and forth in an up and down motion (to level the edge of it). Now my question, is that a good thing to do to create an even edge? Also, since I use diamond stones should I use it dry then wash it? Or would I get better results using water with it while I sharpen? Any good techniques to get a deep even edge? Also, the term bevel refers to an edge. Right? Anyways, anyone that has experience with knife sharpening would help me a great deal.

Okay So we have purchased a 42in Curtis Plasma screen and when we turn the tv off it keeps like a low blue?

I also recently purchased a curtis. And it does the same thing. The salesman at the store said that he called the company and they told him it was normal. They told him that the tv keeps the plasma a certain temperature and that if the room were warmer it wouldn't glow. But anyways...Just make sure she eats, I wasn't really eating at all bc I had no appetite and I kept forgetting to eat. Make sure she eats healthy foods, but maybe something bland bc after surgery she may be nauseas if she is on pain killers. make sure she rests because after surgery you need a lot of recovery, so that means helping with feedings if she is bottle feeding. I don't know what kind of mage is good, I've had 3 surgeries, but none of them were C-section, and I really didn't want to be touched at all. Any movement at all hurt! I am not sure about the knee issues or menopause. As for losing weight, that will happen when she is ready. I'd wait until the doctor gives to okay on exercising.

Why is it so hard for me to get over my ex even though he treat me like crap and dont take care of his kids?

It was a long 10 year relationship which ended in a disaster. I was incarcerated for an act him claimed I committed but was acquitted and so was he. Please someone help me to do other things instead of thinking about a man that doesn't love me. Sometimes I think that he never loved me; I think the relationship was more of a convenience to him. The kids are involved and has never meet their side of the family and it hurts really bad. What I have been doing is completing my education (which he told me I didn't deserve my degree), making blankets crocheting, keeping busy with the kids; in school and out, attending church, praying, and using the time I use to spend with him to pamper myself. Please someone tell me what am I doing wrong? One thing I don't want is to be back with him after all the hurt and pain but I still actually care for him; Love him. I am even trying to relocate to another town because where we are it reminds me constantly of to much pain. Any suggestions?

Baby corn snake wont eat, what am I doing wrong?

I purchased a baby corn snake at the end of July. He was a easy pet to take care of, eating a thawed pinkie weekly (every Tuesday), up until September 8th. When I fed him on Sept 8, and I checked on him the next day, he had threw the pinkie up. I figured it may have been too big because I did everything else the same. But the pinkie wasn't much bigger than the previous ones. I tried to feed him again on the following tuesday, and he wouldn't eat. And I have been consistent and tried to feed him every Tuesday since and he won't take it. He does have a white belly and I can see some black, maybe feces, in the middle that hasn't went anywhere. I am out of answers and I am starting to worry that I am starving him. I don't think its because he's shedding because he shed the week before he threw the mouse up. He is also starting to slither all jagged like, not smooth like he used to. Please help!!

What if an unemployed non custodial parent can only pay small fees every week instead of what they are asking?

My dad is unemployed but he still has to pay child support, which is understandable. But what if he can only pay maybe like $20 a week instead of what they're asking for? I am leaving on Vacation today and my 4 month old Shih Tzu, Sadie, decided to NOT eat at all today. Normally she devours her food.
